Newchapel Ward

Newchapel  Ward consists of three main area's Mow Cop, Harriseahead and Newchapel, and on the outskirts of this ward to the north it abounds Cheshire, and towards the east Stoke on Trent.  Newchapel is within the Staffordshire Moorlands Constituency for a Minister of Parliament, but is represented by four Kidsgrove Town Councillors and two Newcastle Borough Councillors . Years ago it was very much a mining and farming community and although there are now no working mines there are still a number of working farms within the area.  Many of the cottages within the Newchapel Ward were originally built for the miners and farm workers.
